AGPUP!!! Sun 9th October 16. Crown Hotel Boroughbridge

Horsefair, Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire YO51 9LB 01423 322328 bw-crownboroughbridge.co.uk "A most enjoyable but far too short AGPUP," was the opinion voiced by most of the hashers attending. "Let's do something longer next year."  Memories from Benidorm, Amsterdam and the Isle of Wight were related so long as hashers could continue to speak and be understood by equally paralytic guests. Wheels was heard to propose that in order for him to be able to RA in his inimitable style, runs should set off promptly at 2pm and return at 4pm. To prove the point we set off at 2.20pm and returned in the early evening. Wheels motions were carried. Other proposals were made by Talking Pussy which received the jovial dismissal they deserved. It was determined by popular acclaim that as a group we excelled in counselling and advising members on anything related to replacement limbs, arthritis, proststate (harriers) and bladder (harriets)  problems and numerous other age related ailments far too numerous to mention. For this reason, we were the fastest growing hash in or about Yorkshire. This motion was also carried.

Ask for the South Lodge stop before you get into the city centre. If you didn't see everything on the first visit to Ripon, here is a wonderful opportunity to revisit this wonderful town in North Yorkshire, from a different venue of course.

You may remember the Grand Bus Hash of last year....
Due to lack of planning, our excursion coincided with the now-annual 'Beer &
Buses' weekend, where all the museum buses run a service around all the decent
local pubs.
If anyone is interested, it's on again this year on Sat 15th, Sun 16th October:

Not Only That.... but on the Saturday we will have the Inaugural Island Bike Bash
- coordinated for the morning, to do the buses in the afternoon. The trail will
be sympathetic to novices... It's a camping weekend, with bed option.  Please

Car parks are plentiful and competively priced but, beware the market place car park may not be available due to it being market day. Scarey, bring your spondoolees with you.

We have been awarded Cask Marque for our five fantastic cask ales. The pub is situated just five minutes from the picturesque River Aire Canal where walking enthusiasts could work up a thirst on a canal sidewalk. The Woodlesford lock was recently voted the best-kept lock in Yorkshire. Whether you're out for a lovely walk or boating the canal, stop in and try our cask ales, superb wines or premium lagers. Or, if on dry land, take the 8 minute train ride from Leeds city centre; the Woodlesford station is just a two minute walk away. The Two Pointers Pub has much to offer with its game room, large screen TVs and SKY, attractive lounge plus a large function room for special events.

A639 from Leeds towards Rothwell. Cross M1 J44. Fork left onto Holmsley Lane after about a mile. Follow your nose for a mile - pub is on the left. From the North, take M1 to J46. Left onto A63, then right onto A642 at Garforth. After about 3 miles, turn right onto Station Lane (just after you cross the railway. Bear left into Church Street - pub is on the right.
Plenty of chuff chuff trains from Leeds and back. Turn right out of the station and follow beer fumes for approx. 150 yards uphill. Proprietor has indicated that they can do hot food for us at £6.50 a head along the theme of Bangers, mash and onion gravy, Lasagne etc if there are enough takers. Please let me know if poss.
